We're two!

As of September 15, the blog hits the age of two! Granted this post is very belated but on that day, I was enjoying the great nature soil and perspiring like the Niagara Falls.

Anyways, back to the topic. I started the blog in 2008 just when the WotLK (which wasn't released yet) changes hit the PTR and I took a long break from real WoW to focus on my examinations. Coincidentally, Cata changes are on the PTR now so we can assume a similar launch date?

Lots of things have changed since this blog started. I'm nearing the end of my compulsory national service stint, something which I look forward to and the Lich King is now dead.

Demograph of the Ancients have changed as well (speaking of which, it turned 3 years of age on 12th. Happy belated birthday to them). From a relatively small guild with a single 10man team to a 25man raid guild to be reckoned with, it's a very impressive change under Borg's reign. While a few...dramas took place which currently freezes our progression, I am confident that we'll be back with a vengeance in Cataclysm.

And now, we turn the spotlight on Beta. A new patch just hit us and the biggest news by far is not the crack-addled female worgen model but rather, WORGEN MOUNTS!!!!!

Or lack of rather.

Running Wild is indeed the new racial "mount" for worgen. Functionally the ability works exactly like a mount. This does mean the worgen are not bringing faction mounts to the table which other Alliance races can access. This is also of course very different from the original Plainsrunning implemented for taurens. We have no plans to try and bring that ability back in any form.

Ultimately, we feel Running Wild fits very well with the nature of the worgen race. Rather than getting a physical mount, they get down and sprint on all fours. When you're playing a worgen, it just feels awesome. :) - Zarhym

This is indeed very exciting news for future worgens out there since they represent the only race to not ride a mount for travelling (unless they sprout wings, we'll still need flying mounts). WHAT pisses me off is rather the idiots on forums who keep insisting that Running Wild is a copy of the early Tauren racial Plainstriding when it's not. Period. It's like arguing that corns grow on trees because it's technically a fruit.

Anyways, things are looking very good for Cataclysm. If you have the PTR, hop onto it to give your new talents a try out! Or if you're lucky to get a beta invite, you can always add me.
