Uldum! The Egyptian theme zone for Level 83's after Deepholm. It does seem really weird that Cataclysm levelling takes you all over the continents but that's a discussion for next week. For now, let's focus on Uldum and it's general feel.
Since the zone isn't truly complete with quests and rewards, poor ole' Zeev will currently be camping inside a dam for now.
One thing that really stands out from the rest of the 80-85 zones is the extensive use of mini cinematics (as seen above). Either you love it or hate it. I'm in the former camp since it's a great way of telling a story.
The story focuses primarily on Harrison Jones, his band of adventurers and the civil war the Tol'vir, split between their alligence to Deathwing. The quests are split between searching for Uldum's artifact with Harrison or aiding the Tol'vir fend off attacks by Deathwing's minions.
The aesthetic of the zone is really well done with numerous stone statues decorating the landscape. That said, there isn't much change in the scenery so you might get bored of the brown, sand and palm trees after a while.
Uldum is also home to a whooping 3 dungeons (Halls of Origination, Lost City of Tol'vir and Vortex Pinnacle) and 1 raid instance. It'll be interesting to see what kind of rewards that the Tol'vir rep will give. Perhaps the mummified hand pet?
