The Gaming Lizard

This Saturday I went to watch Watchmen. It's a fantastic film IMO, but could be cos I'm easily satisfied :p

Watchmen has carries a M18 rating locally and it's easy to see why. Most obvious of all is Doctor Manhattan's big blue wang. While his blue aura covers up most things, once you notice it, your eyes seems to automatically pick up it.....erm hem, onto other stuff. Lots of sex and gore in Watchmen, most gorey of all is Rorschach hacking at a criminal's head repeatly with a chopper. It's actually painful watching that scene.

I like the costumes and the sets, especially Nite Owl II's ship, Archie which resembles an owl's head with overly large eyes.

Storyline's intriging, if you have not seen the graphic novel before, starting with the Comedian's death and the ending differs from most happily ever after stories as well.


Rorschach is my fave of all Watchmen, followed by Nite Owl II. His mask is white with ink blots constantly shifting to different patterns, a detail thats shown beautifully in the film. It's easy to miss out the ink blots in the dark atmosphere but Synder managed to show it, great job.

All in all, a great film. Would watch it again if i had the money to lol. You'll enjoy it if:

A) You're not a film critic
B) You're not a Watchmen graphic novel fan [ok, some love it, some hate it]
C) You like Doctor Manhattan's big wang
